Welcome to Silver Gaits Ranch. We are now standing
this wonderful Missouri Fox Trotter stallion who has successfully stood
for several years in the heart of the Ozark Mountains where gait and
disposition are so important. We strive to continue breeding and
raising sane, sound and healthy horses for trail or show. These
exceptional fox trotting horses are versatile and gentle, with the added
benefit of a smooth ground covering gait.
Missouri Fox Trotters were bred in the Ozark mountains of
Missouri from a variety of breed such as Morgans, Saddlebreds, Arabians
and Tennessee Walkers to combine the best qualities of these breeds, to
produce a gentle and smooth riding horse for ranch work and to move
cattle. The breed had to be hardy, and to survive at times on very
little to eat due to long hours and days on the trail driving
cattle.
Please consider our black Silver Dapple stallion, Wilson's
Smoky Jo to put some glide in your ride and some color on your next
horse! he is homozygous black and can only produce black foals,
regardless of the mare's color. There is also a 50/50 chance of
getting a silver dapple foal. he is 15.1 hands high, with
substantial bone, and a "let's see what's over the next hill"
attitude. He has been stamping his foals with a ton of 'chrome' or
white markings, perhaps indicating he carries a 'splash' or sabino
gene. See some of his foals here.
Silver Gaits Ranch is currently offering live cover at $500 with $5.00 a day dry mare care, or $8.00 a day
with a foal; shipped cooled semen is $700. Live foal guarantee.
We offer young stock and occasionally riding horses for
sale. Please check back often as we update our site frequently; and
please visit our links that offer sound training advice, and quality
horses for your consideration of purchase or breeding.
